![]() ![]() I would bet, though, a tune on their website would be fairly accurate and get you in the ballpark. Having said that, members here have gotten funky maps from them in the past, I think was one. Probably a flash.Ĭlick to expand. The Power Commander is the tried and true device for making fueling changes to your FI bike, if there’s one out there by a company that’s been there, done that, DynoJet is the one I’d suggest and trust. ![]() And anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something. Will it be hugely different or a fire breather after? Nope. Will the bike run better? Yup, absolutely. It’s not a bad thing but there are MUCH better things to spend a grand on. It’s when you’re talking 150hp plus bikes you want a “lesser power“ map. Pull the bodywork off and that’s 80% of the labor involved.Īgain, bike is not a powerhouse so a super tune, then a flatter tune with better mpg is not worth it, imho. If you’re not 100% confident, have the shop do it. Might make it easier to exit fast corners but it will be very slight. Not unheard of but not common.Įither work, they both accomplish the same result. ![]() You should have a nice mid range bump, though. No higher top speed, not much torque, not enough to notice. Very, very slight HP, again, from totally stock to pipe and tune maybe 8hp. A dynojet PC or other canned tuner box gets you to 90%, a flash from a good tuner might be 90-95% and a great tuner, race team, perfect flash, perfect maint is that elusive 98-100% in running perfect. If your bike running perfect, with fully clean filters, good plugs, all maint up to date, and totally tuned by a reputable shop that knows what they are doing making every modification perfect is a 100%, your bike is now running at say at an 80 or 85% of that perfect. you’ll maybe, just maybe, get 5-8 more HP out of it and will be under 100hp at the rear wheel. Know this bike is not a powerhouse, and even dropping all that cash into a full pipe, full tune, etc. Lean, and not 100% optimal, but just fine it’s a closed loop FI system that will (to a certain point) adjust itself to the new exhaust. Your bike, barring any poor install air leaks or other f-ups, is most likely running just fine. We are here to help, that’s a lot of money, btw, I’d ask too. You will get a ton of opinions on this and there are no 100% right or 100% wrong ways to do this all but I will tell you this from experience over 30+ years of riding, tuning, buying parts, and wasting money on needless, frivolous things over the years my opinions on it. TLDR: is an ECU flash worth it? (looking for things to run better and gain a little power too) just don't wanna find out I pay and go through all this hassle to be disappointed (obv I'm not looking for crazy gains but just better handling and a bit more power) Is it okay to run the bike with no tune? (in the event I don't tune it)Ĭould it be worth getting a power vision and getting a couple of maps made that I can flip through? (cost a bit more) Should I lower fan temps? if so by how much? is that gonna be a huge deal? (and spark plugs but NGK is in already)(I don't wanna mess with stuff I'm not confident in doing) I can do most prep besides chain tension and air filter cleaning. Will a PAIR disable be good enough rather than a full removal? (apparently, it can be done through the ECU?)ĭoes this change the handling of the bike other than speed/power? Is there a chance my bike could run worse after this? (this is honestly unrealistic but I gotta ask for peace of mind) (mind you I have no STOCK experience on this bike as I bought it with full system with no tune so im assuming im running less than stock power)ĭo I gain better/higher top speed or acceleration? or HP/Torque? (I assume I would cause everything is running more optimally) ![]() So from my understanding the goal of the flash and map is to clean up my AFR and make my bike run optimally with the mods I have on it. so to make sure I'm making the right decision here I thought id ask and share my thoughts and concerns So normally if it were a couple hundred bucks I wouldn't worry too much about it but this is bouta be a whole 1k to get a custom map made and get the ECU flash and transporting the bike. I know I posted about this before but for some reason, I'm really nervous about this ![]()
